When I say lazy, I really mean it to! Yesterday, all I got accomplished was the laundry. I spent the entire day in my PJ's just lounging around and watching TV and movies. It's actually kind of nice to have a whole day to do nothing. Guess I'd better enjoy this guilty pleasure now, because pretty soon it will be a distance memory.
This morning I actually got myself up and in the shower because we had an FCC presentation given by Dr. Rena Li. She discussed how to incorporate Chinese culture into our child's life. It was pretty interesting and I took some notes to tuck away for later. We met with Heather & Damon and Nancy, Brian and Lily beforehand and had a nice lunch. It always does my heart good to see Lily and how well she is doing. Nancy and Brian have been home with her a year this coming January and I can remember their referral party like it was just a few months ago! Time really has flown.
After seeing all the kids at the presentation today, I got motivated to FINALLY start my daily scrapbook for Lauren. My friend, Michele, did a daily book for Ava and it's so nice to flip through it and see how Ava has changed throughout the year. My pages are 8" x 8", just big enough for one photo and some embellishments. My plan is to get about 100 pages done before our trip so I can get off to a good start. These are quick and easy pages...nothing fancy or time consuming. Here's my first seven pages (double click to see them better)...
I'm going to keep kicking these out and hopefully I'll have a bunch done by the time we travel. I'm also planning on doing a larger scrapbook and a lifebook...the kind of lifebook that is written as just the facts of Lauren's life...once she is old enough it will be something she can read and we can work on together.

Oooohhh I love those pages! Fantastic idea! I've been writing a daily journal, (just day-to-day stuff), since August this year - so when we finally see our daughter and get her file, we'll know what we were doing on her date of birth!
Great layouts! You're thinking ahead having them all ready. I haven't ventured into the fun of digi scrapping yet but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. Glad you were inspired to get started. Have fun!
I've started doing the same thing as ozimum and am recording what I do each day so that someday I can look back and see what was happening the day she was born. I started in Aug of this year which is sadly probably waay too soon!
2008 will be an exciting year for you and I hope to sneak in at the end or early 2009.
Happy scrappin!
Well, I'm jealous that you got to stay in your pj's!! Sounds like a wonderful day to me.
Love your scrapbook pages. That's such a good idea to go ahead and get started.
Donna, your pages look GREAT!!! I just can't wait to see Lauren's little face in each and everyone of them!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow! A daily scrapbook. Now that's impressive!
....those are some of the prettiest scrapbook pages I have seen. I hated to miss the FCC presentation -- I ran the New Times 10k for 3rd (and final) time and was way too sweaty and tired to make it anywhere else on Sunday. The free BEER afterwards didn't help. I would love to see a blog post on some of the highlights from Dr. Li.
What a great idea to do the 8 x 8 daily photos! Are these digi? You have such style!!! I must find out more about how you are doing the lifebook. We need to chat. I second the wish for a post of information on the highlights of Dr Li's chat. Did she recommend any literature?
Glad to see you moving forward with your book pages. It's coming along really nice. I would never have completed Ava's book if the pages weren't all designed ahead of time- so much to do once Lauren is home. I designed about 10 extra pages so that you can dump your least favorites in the end. Sorry to have missed Dr Li- we've both been sick this past week. Let me know what I missed.
