Instant stress reliever...

It's that time of year again...time for those totally evil, but equally yummy little chocolaty minty bits of heaven.

There are two or three Thursdays each month on our office calendar that we affectionately call Black Thursday. I work on design and construction contracts for a local government and these are the big due dates each month when we are SLAMMED to the max with contract work for items that need City Council approval. The deadlines are tight and stress is usually at an all time high each Black Thursday.

Well, guess what today was and guess what was delivered to my office promptly after looking through my in-box FULL of stuff. Yup, you guessed it...these little beauties. Two boxes of them...

At first I put the boxes on my back table, thinking I would forget about them. Then, about 10am when the stress started to fully set in I turned my chair and there they were! I swear the boxes were smiling at me! After I polished off about 1/2 of a tube, I put the rest of it up at the front desk for the zombies to eat (I swear the guys in my office can smell food from about 15-20 feet away).

After lunch I settled back in for more contract fun and by 2:30pm I had the 2nd tube out and was half way through it just thoughtlessly chomping one cookie after another. Finally, I snapped out of it and not only got rid of the rest of that tube, but the 2nd box as well!

I am just totally helpless around these cookies! They are pure evil!

Oh, how I can relate. I just nailed 1/2 tube out of the freezer with a big glass of milk.

So good...so bad!

OMG... my box was brought to me today too. And I thought of you! Remembered how much you liked them. That's not weird right that I know what kind of girl scout cookies you like? Nah. Right??? Heh. Which reminds me, there's a Paula Deen cookie recipe that uses a tube of sugar cookie dought and Thin Mints. To die for.

They need a warning label!! Seriously, little girls should not be selling something so lethal!!!

Oddly enuf, I never really flipped for the thin mints. I liked them, but much preferred the ... tagalongs, I think they're called. THe ones with chocolate over a cookie and layer of peanut butter.

However, since January I have only had two sodas (one today at lunch...sugar and caffeine free root beer that was actually good). I haven't had fast food all year yet, unless you count pizza, which I'm allowed once a week on Idol night (the first night). I didnt even have the tortilla chips with the Frito Lay Jalepeno & Cheddar Cheese dip on Super Bowl Sunday! And I'm more a chips and dip type snacker than a sweets snacker.

So what am I craving now that it's *that* time of year again?

Thin Mints.

How odd.

I have to thank my lucky stars that the gals selling those tubes of torture NEVER finds me!!! It is kind of like a good bad thing.

I laughed at your comment "they were smiling at me" as I sooo agree:)
Have you tried the South Beach mint 100 calorie bars. I think they are pretty darn good.

I am very thankful the little brown uniformed girls didn't stop at my door this year. Very, very thankful.

I hear ya....I am so thankful this is the first you I don't have cases at my disposal! We have been selling the darn things for the last 7 years and this year I have NO Girl Scouts in the house!
Doesn't mean I didn't still buy some though;)

Just wait... If Lauren ever decides to be a Girl Scout, she'll be begging you like mad to buy dozens of boxes from her. Believe me. I have experience;)
