It's been a whirlwind since we received our referral! I'll be updating with more details later. I took off today to wait for the "stork" and he finally landed about 11:30. Here's the sign he was greeted with at the door...

My mom caught a glimpse of him through the window while I scrambled for the camera and she saw him snickering. Here he is...

He was really funny and didn't mind the photo one bit. He said he's been called many things, but never the stork!!! I bet he has a good story for his wife tonight!

Here's all the photos we received with our referral...for your viewing pleasure. Double click on the image to enlarge it.

I can't stop staring at her pictures! I went out to lunch today and even took her along! ;)

You probably made the Fed Ex man's day just as he made yours. :) She is so wonderful!

I remember that moment. I bet their days are so boring that moments like these are a lot of fun for them.

Lauren is so beautiful, and again, I would say those are the best dressed referral photos I have ever seen. They must have somehow known what is in store for her, in her closet at home. ; )

OH YEAH, so remember "bringing" my girl along to a host of events. I even blew up her photo , stuck it in a highchair, and she ate thanksgiving dinner with us in 2005. Our referral was nov 2005 and we met her on Jan 2006. Have fun. It's YOUR time, now.

Kind regards from Miami,

Carol and Taylor

I love the sign on the door! It is amazing the feelings you get when you see your daughter's picture. She will be with you forever from now on. These little ones have a way of coming into our lives and taking a strong hold on our heartstrings. It is great, you have so much to look forward to. We know you will both enjoy every minute!

I love your stork sign! My poor Fed Ex man thought I was nuts! Olivia looked at Lauren's pictures and said "Look, my friend baby! SO cute!" Then she called Jackson over and said "Look at my friend baby!" I sure wish we were close enough for them to really be friends!

Donna, I can't help but notice her wee little toes in the middle picture. they are scrunched and oh so cute. I can just see you kissing them! It won't be long. I too remember the Fed Ex Stork and have a similar picture of my mom receiving MacLean's referral and me driving and hour and a half to race down and see it as she of course waited for me to come to open it. She said it was the hardest thing to do wait for me to come to see my daughter and her first grandchild.

Enjoy, Shauna

She is such a doll! If it helps at all, Abbey was 18 mo and turned 19 mo right after I got her. She weighed 19 lbs. The 12 mo. clothes I brought on the trip were all really big, but they worked out great - loose and comfy. I just rolled the elastic down on the pants. It was also great that she wore those 12 mo clothes for forever, about a year!

Your daughter is such a beauty - and she looks so pretty in pink! Those are some of the sweetest referral pics I have ever seen. My friend's daughter was the exact same age at referral last year - 19 months. They got her the day she turned 21 months old. She has been home for 8 months now and her transition has gone really smoothly. She is so much fun and her personality was apparent from the moment they met her. You are going to have a blast with your new little one. I am so happy for you.

Precious! She is beyond cute. You must want to pinch yourself. Referral time is like no other time in your life. So surreal. So wonderful. Your story is especially sweet because of how patient you've been. The marathon wait.

I remember memorizing every bit of our daugher's referral pics, burned the images into my brain - those pics were our physical connection to her. Yep, made copies and took them EVERYWHERE to sneak frequent peeks.
