Help, I need a techie...

I got an e-mail message from my digital cable & internet provider over the weekend saying that I've exceeded bandwidth limits and violated their user policy. With that, they deleted my web file manager with all my blog graphics. The e-mail states that they also deleted my web site since it exceeds the allowable traffic. The funny thing is that I don't even have a web site through them.

As a non-techie person, I'm assuming that using them to host my blogger graphics is what's causing the problem. I'm thinking that each time my blog gets a hit, it counts as "traffic" to the graphics I store in my file manager through the cable company. Is there a techie person out there who can tell me if this might be the case?

After speaking with my cable company by phone and in person at the office, I still haven't gotten a straight answer out of them. Now I don't know if I should upload all my graphics again and re-link everything in my Blog or give up on that and redo my blog in the new Blogger and upload the graphics directly.

Help!

**Update**

I found a site to upload my graphics for free and link them in my Blog, so I should be back to normal. Let's see how long this lasts.

I know you want comments from someone who knows something, but all I got to offer up is a big 'ol hug. I'd be in shambles, tears and slowly working my way into the fetal position. Yes, I'm that tech-deficient.

Fingers crossed all will be well...I know it will.

I don't know a lot but I do know there has been a lot of enhancements to the new blogger that make it easy to have a cool banner like yours and it is hosted on Blogger. Maybe start with that and see if that helps! Good luck!

I have one website with the new blogger, and two with the old. In some ways, the new one is better, once you learn the basics. I say that because while the template was easy to put together, there were/are somethings I can't figure out, like how to make the header/footer dimensions smaller while keeping the dimensions of the graphics and background "in sync".

I've been using imagecave.com for my online storage, but I know I don't have near as much as much as you do...as only the things i put on my blog go there. The rest are on my hard drive.

Not a techie by any means but I think your bandwidth has been exceeded because you are pulling your graphics from an online source. I was always told to save all graphics to hard drive and then upload to blogger to avoid bandwidth. When I go to upload at blogger, if I upload via some internet address(photos from my smugmug photo site) ... that adds to my bandwith usage. Not sure if this helps. : )

That is good news, that you found a place to upload your graphics to. I would have a heart attack if all of mine were deleted.

I wish I could help but I'll admit to not knowing how to help you. I do know that if this happen to us, Aly would immediately haul my butt on the carpet and demand to know what I did to cause it :)

We do save our photos to our hard drive and upload from there, although we keep public albums on Picasa
