A measly 22 calendar days...

is all that separates us from our referral at this point. It seems oh so close when you look at the calendar on my sidebar, but in reality it's still not soon enough for me!

China Adoption forecast has just updated their site and now they are estimating a referral date in November for us. They had been estimating October for the past couple of months.

I hate to say that I'm quickly losing...

of traveling this year.

I'm so NOT ready to face Christmas #3 (#4 if you count paperchasing) without our daughter! Can you tell I'm in one of those "this just sucks" kind of moods this evening?

I think all you waiting parents have been incredible. Try not to lose hope when you are finally so close.

Thinking of you :)

It's O.K. to be in that kind of mood, because it does suck. Fingers crossed that you have Lauren home by Christmas(hopefully before!)

Sorry, dear. It really does suck. You're ALLOWED to feel sad about it sometimes. Sending big HUGS from Canada!!!!!!

All I can say is "I'm sorry." Although I know my words don't ease the pain. I am right there with you. This will be Christmas #4 and no real end in sight (yet). I get it, I really get it. I have nothing else to say. Tears are fogging my eyes and I can't really see the screen.

Sister, I have admired you from the first day I read your blog. My heart aches for you. Please don't give up hope. Go into Lauren's room and take it all in. Feel the energy it holds and smile.

Lots of hugs from us....

I'm sorry that you are feeling down. I am, too. It's so hard to wait for our hearts' desires.

But you ARE in the homestretch here. Press on! Good things are coming for you.

((hugs))

But the beauty of you, is that come tomorrow - Your spirit lights up and the dream of Lauren brings a smile to your face... And we love that smile.

Keep thoughts of the wonderful holiday you will have, knowing who your daughter is ...where she is living ...and being able to look at her face. Hang in there Donna. You are so close.

The BIG difference this year will be that you will finally see the face of your daughter. Plus, when all the holiday craziness is done, you will still have something wonderful to look forward to. Personally, I'm still thinking October for your referral.

The forecast site isn't factoring in the fact that there isn't anyone logged in for 9 days during CNY. I also think October will be your month! =)

Huge hugs to you. We received a referral in December for our little Tongginator. It's hard when they are not home for Christmas. But... seeing the photo can still change everything. :)

Hugs, hugs, hugs. This wait is very exhausting.

I refuse to believe that you are not going to China this year. You just may be in China for Christmas.

Hang in there, Donna, you are soooo close!!! And no matter how many times you hear it, please beleive it when people tell you that it is oh so worth it. You will be matched with Lauren and a light buld will go off that makes you think, "Oh, this is why it took so long..... they were waiting to give her to me!" We are going on 7 weeks home, and I still say that every morning when I see her smiling face. Oh, this is why it took so long, so I could have this angel. I hated counting the days like that, but it did give me some comfort.
Oh, and don;t worry about being "old" parents. When you adopt a "toddler" (meaning older than 6 months), and you have not previously had kids, I honestly do not think that you can prepare yourself for it enough. It is the greatest joy, but tiring, too. I wish someone would have told me to start carrying around a sack of 20lb potatoes! Because going from 0 to 20lbs is a shock to your system. So, grab some potatoes, and start counting the days- because Lauren WILL be here by the end of the year.

Praying that your Christmas pics feature your baby girl front and centre!

Hopefully the CNY 'jump' with move your referral back to October or dare we hope September?

((hugs)) friend! You're almost there and oh how wonderful the referral finish line looks!
