Busy Saturday...

It was a busy day today. First up, 9am appointment to get my hair color in shape for the trip...my grays were out of control. Then a trip to Target (hopefully my last, but I have a feeling it won't be), then off to Babies-r-Us for a couple of small items I couldn't find at Target. Then back home to work on packing again.

I finally have ALL of Lauren's stuff packed! This includes her clothes, PJ's, accessories (a girl has to have cute clippies), blankets, feeding stuff, baby care stuff, meds, Baby Hawk carrier, toys, and right down to the all important Cheerios. I probably have way too many clothes packed for her, but I don't care. I seem to have plenty of room left for our stuff still...

Both check in pages have one side empty and only weight about 23 lbs each so far...

and both rolling carry-on bags are pretty much empty still...

(notice the bag of M&M's waiting to be packed...do they have these in China?... cause I need my chocolate)

A few of you suggested I take a backpack or diaper bag as my personal item on the plane instead of a purse, so I picked this diaper bag up at Target. I think it's pretty darn cute for $25 and it has a long strap to go across the body...just my style.

I also picked up this journal at Target so I can have something to write in every night of the trip. I want to remember ALL the details of everyday. I get goosebumps thinking that by Jan 23rd this book will be filled up with all our memories!

By the way, we are in the single digits now...

I think I was still shopping right up to the day before I left! LOL
I just realized that you will be there for the CNY festivities. It is SO beautiful. Your hotels will be decorated as well as the cities. Make sure you buy enough red lucky envelopes to bring back and use in years to come. And silks for Lauren as she grows!

You're doing a great job packing! I saw m&m's in Guangdong, not in Jiangxi but I didn't get out that much honestly. The kit kats they gave us there for turn down tasted a bit different, less sweet. Still ate 'em though!!!

Wow! I'm impressed with your packing. Do you have a list of what you've taken for Lauren? You've done so well both for weight and size! Cute diaper bag! I'm trying to figure out what to take in the way of a diaper bag too as I'm hoping to have my BabyHawk on as much as possible. Guess I'll just have to convince my dad that it's stylish to wear a pink diaper bag on the Great Wall! :o)

Your journal is a wonderful gift to yourself and Lauren Elizabeth in the future. How neat to think that it will soon be filled with your first memories of time with Lauren!!

Soon Mommy...soon!

Have a wonderful trip! Yes they have lots and lots of candy in China, only sometimes you don't get to a store right away, so I'd take some with me! And we gave out candy at the orphanage too!!!
